True...but being a beginner and sort of testing the waters it has it's advantages sometimes. |
No doubt..

Did any of you guys go to school for photography? I'm currently taking my classes to transfer to a university and was wondering if you actually needed a degree in order to become a sports photographer or did you just need to have the right connections to get into games and such? _________________ Rest In Peace Isabella Sanchez

You'll need a degree in anything that specialize in a professional field, but connection is critical too. You got to balance out the two. _________________ Hi, call me Kevin.

Was that on craigslist or someting local? Most of the ones I see on POTN are still in the ~$1500 range... _________________ -flickr

I need some input on my picking up a DSLR. So I've been previously owned a XSi and tried out a D40. I'm planning to pick up a D90 and was wondering which option is more worth it. Any input would be great.
On a side note, I picked the Nikon because lens are much cheaper. Any input on this would be nic also.
Nikon D90
18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR AF-S DX Nikkor Autofocus Lens
$1137.00
or
Nikon D90
Nikkor 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR Lens
$1089.00
Yet I'm still confused about the DX of the lens. Can anyone tell me about it? _________________ SEATTLE THREAD. |

That being said, I can open the file in DPP, Adobe Bridge, and CS2 without any problems... Would you mind sending me one of his RAW files to see if I can open it up? Send it to "airbphoto@yahoo.com" and I'll check it out... Peace...
- airbutchie | sorry for the late response...but i figured it out....i just simply renamed and added .CR2 at the end...and that worked...thanks tho... _________________ http://www.flickr.com/photos/bryantdigital/

okay so i went and played with cameras today in a store and i like the feel of the D60 and the XSi alot o im back to being torn between the D60 and the XSi because the 40d is simply to big and more than i need. i can get it at an amazing price so i think that im going to buy that with 5 lenses and sell the 40d body andget the XSi body sound like a deal? _________________ D80[18-55][70-300] |

My recommendation is picking up D90 + 18-200mm. It's like $1300 altogether, but 18-200 would cover all the lens you would need in the future. _________________ Hi, call me Kevin.

Yeah, I was at first looking at the old one, but then I discovered that the new one costs "only" 500 € (~ 750 $) more, and has lots of features that are worth investing in ... especially that ISO 50 is available!
I personally definetly get a new body in '09. I was actually going for the 50D, but it also has the 1.6 crop which keeps messing with me ... so I thought about the 5D, since it takes amazing pics, and costs only little more than a 50D body! _________________ F L I C K R
