The Contest: -
The overall competition will be a season/playoff style contest. Every 5-6 weeks, there will be a smaller, simpler contest.
-There are 8 regular contests plus a final.
- Rounds:
- Round 1: Jan. 1 - Feb. 9
- Round 2: Feb. 10 - Mar. 22
- Round 3: Mar. 23 - May 3 (canceled)
- Round 4: May 4 - June 7
- Round 5: June 8 - July 12
- Round 6: July 13 - Aug. 23
- Round 7: Aug. 24 - Oct. 10
- Round 8: Oct. 10 - Nov. 15
- Round 9: Nov. 16 - Dec. 31
-At the final round, we will have a final contest. This will consist of 12 competitors, which include the winners of each round along with 4 wild card positions. This contest will also not determine (although it may help) the customizer of the year award at the ISS awards at the end of the year.
-Each winner from each round will receive an automatic bid to compete at the end. There will be 12 final contestants. So if there are 6 different winners from 6 different rounds, there will be an additional 6 wild cards. If there are 6 winners because someone won twice, there will be 7 wild cards competing.
-There is also a point system for the 3 runner ups in each contest. First runner up will get 5 points, Second runner up will get 4 points, and Third runner up will receive 3 points. The cumulative amount of points will determine the wild card position who will compete along with the rest of the winners at the finals. If you are consistent and gather enough points, you still may make it.
-Wild card positioning information will be located in this thread.
-The first tiebreaker with Wild card points will be the amount of Rounds participated in. The second tiebreaker is the final percentage average for the accumulated Rounds.
-For the actual contest itself, it's simple. All shoes will be posted by me, and voting will occur by our members. There is no limit as to how many competitors there are. Yes, some months may be more intense than others, but that's the beauty of it. Let the best pair win.
Entries:
-You sign up when you send me pictures of the shoes. In that case, I don't have to worry about disqualifications due to missed deadlines. BRIEF descriptions you want to be posted with the picture are fine. No novels. Send me 3 of your best pictures UNTAGGED. I will tag it with the letter you are assigned so it will be easier for the voters to post. You can send it to me through PM or email - solejester@3rcustoms.com
-If sending through email or PM, please do not send anything larger than 800 x 600.
-Since people were holding out for contests to post, so the post "fairly new work" rule is out. Provided that your work has been posted within the round dates, then it may be entered in the contest, but you MUST still PM or email the untagged pictures. I WILL NOT accept entries that PM me a link to their threads for pics. (*edit - I will bend this rule provided that the pics are untagged) If you want into the contest, then make the simple effort. If you wish to have your work aired out before the contest, that's on you. I still expect several others to keep their guns hushhush until time to vote. If you do decide to enter work that has already been seen, please provide a link to a thread indicating it was posted within the round dates.
-Only one entry per contestant. If a collaboration is entered, credit will only go to one member, so upon submitting the entry, please indicate who will be receiving the prize/wild card points.
-Contest rules are the same as in the custom forum. (Nothing drug-related. No material that may be offensive to a particular group)
Voting:
-Monthly judges may change throughout each contest so one panel may never be the same. DO NOT CONTACT ME ASKING TO BE A JUDGE! The judges will be dalyte1, SekureD, myself, LD5K, and one guest judge(s). Permanent judges may be added without notice but will be identified in this thread. If a permanent judge is not able to judge a round, a guest judge will replace them. If someone is selected to be a judge, their entry is void (should they submit one) but may be entered in the next immediate round.
-Judges will vote based on criteria below on scales of 1-5:
- originality
- cleanliness/execution
- theme/concept
- flow (colorway/organization/placement of graphics)
- totality (idea of being whole, complete)
- overall (possessing the best balance of criteria)
-Public voting will be done by the members via posting in the Lounge. No polls. Voting will take place for only 2 days.
-Only members with 3month membership and at least 100 posts are allowed to participate. I apologize if it seems unfair, but this is the only way to prevent cheating that has taken place in contests I've seen before.
(this only applies to voters, everyone is free to enter the contest)
-Final results will be a combination of judge votes and public votes and will be posted in a contest discussion thread in the customs forums within 3 days of public voting finishing.
Themed Contests
Simple. There are none. At least not for the overall tournament. There may be a theme shoe month if a concensus is reached. Also, Steve may want to do something for the magazine, so that will superceed any other arrangements.
Prizes:
-Each winner from each round will hold the title "Customizer of the Month" under their username. It will be rotated every round based on the winners.
-Each winner from each round will also receive a $25 nike gift card. I know it's not alot, but it's all I can afford. If you wish to contribute to the prize fund, please PM or email me. I'm not making any promises, but I'd like to make the final round worth $250. It will at least be $100.
Final Prize:

| I am definitely in on this contest. I haven't been putting much stuff out so I am gonna have to go all out on my next shoes. Now that I have changed my user name its time to bring some heat and put my name on the map. Cant wait to see everyone elses entries as well. |
