It's amazing the effect that hype and limited availability can have on a shoe. While this 1500 is nice enough, it's no better than the average UK made GR's from a couple of years back. I've a feeling that had this particular incarnation not had the Solebox connection, we'd have been able to pick them up for £20 from TK Maxx in the UK. Just like those older GR's....
Just goes to show how shallow a lot of 'shoe fans' are these days..... |

To be honest I feel like even though the value on these is CLEARLY significantly increased by the solebox name that these still would have gone for around $200 USD. A really high quality shoe with simplicity that has a little flash to it with the 3M goes a long way. _________________ Sizes 11 And Up: White Cement IV's, True Blue III's, White Supreme Blazers http://www.solecollector.com/forums/supreme-blazers-true-blue-iii-99-white-cement-iv-jordan-t805679.html

What, so you can try to sell them on for a bigger profit now that the purple devils are 'yesterdays news'? Pathetic. |

Well, I can see what you're trying to say but I'm willing to bet that if you tried to sell some nice UK made GR NB's on here, very few people would be interested. The majority of the new generation of 'heads' are only interested in the kudos and the potential resale value of todays shoes, rather than their aesthetic appeal. They flit about from colab to colab like demented moths, buying what the blogs are telling them is cool, rather than using their own judgement. |

i wish that was the case so i didn't have to drop stupid money to obtain shoes that i like. some of the uk gr 1500's are so dope and probably harder to track down than all these collaborations. i would have bought these regardless of if they were gr or not as i am a sucker for a simple colourway on quality made shoes. especially any runners with suede/mesh combo. but i definitely agree with your statements jim. look at stuff like a lot of the sb releases. kids fiend out for that stuff and to be honest, a lot of them are just plain ugly. the majority of kids out there are like that. and just so you know, i am part of this new generation. but i am also a free-thinker, with my own opinions
oh and if you ever have any uk made nb releases for sale in uk 9, be sure to let me know _________________ SZ 8 DS Hatrods

I havent seen any for a year or so. Last ones were the 1500's with the camo lining.
If you are visiting the North of England the factory shops might have some. |
