| Login and Registration Issues |
| I'm having trouble logging in. First, make sure you are entering the correct username and password. You can use the Forgot Your Password link on the login page if you forget yours. If you're still having trouble, try ALL these steps, in this order. 1. If you are using AOL's browser, try using another browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. 2. Check your cookies settings and make sure it is set to "accept all." 3. Clear all of your cookies. (See here for how) 4. Empty your cache and delete all your temporary files. (See here for how) 5. Restart your computer, and router if you have one. 6. Relaunch your browser, go to the Index and login again, making sure "Log me on automatically each visit" is checked. 8. If you're still experiencing problems, make sure you've entered the correct password. Also please check that your account is activated. (If you need to activate your account, see here.) 9. | Why do I get logged off automatically? If you do not check the Log me in automatically box when you log in, the board will only keep you logged in for a preset time. This prevents misuse of your account by anyone else. To stay logged in, check the box during login. This is not recommended if you access the board from a shared computer, e.g. library, internet cafe, university cluster, etc. Back to top |
| How do I prevent my username from appearing in the Who Is Online box? In your profile you will find an option Hide your online status; if you switch this "on" you'll only appear to board administrators or to yourself. You will be counted as a hidden user. Back to top |

| How do I change my settings? To change any of your profile settings, such as password, email, signature, etc., click the Profile link at the top of any page. Back to top |
| How do I upload an avatar? The small image (120x120, 20 KB) that appears in your profile and on the left side of your posts is called your avatar. To change it, navigate to the bottom of the Profile page, and use the "Browse..." button to locate the image on your hard drive. The image can be a JPEG, GIF, or PNG. | How do I change the stars under my name? These images are called "ranks." The default ranks are based on post count, and are reflected by a number of stars. Any other images/text ("Sneakerpimps," for example) are because the user is in a usergroup. You must be a member of a usergroup to have a new rank. Back to top |

| I am getting an SMTP error when I post. What is that? This usually means our email server is having problems. Several notification emails are sent when you post or send a PM, so if our email server is not functioning properly, you may receive an error. Do not post again if you see this error! | Someone left me feedback, but the number is not updating. The overall feedback number that is displayed in topics and in your profile is based on unique feedback. | How can I become a moderator? We have a nomination process for new members of the staff. A current staff member will nominate a user who shows they are knowledgeable, helpful, and courteous in a particular forum, and it'll be voted upon. Users who wish to become part of the staff can show these qualities on a consistent basis over a period of time. Do not ask to become a moderator, you may forfeit your chance. Back to top |

| What is the Marketplace? The Marketplace consists of the Listings forums, the Wanted forums, the Agreements forum, and the Completed Transactions forum. It is a system for members to buy, sell, and trade shoes and other items. For more information, see their respective forums. Back to top |
| What are Listing tags and how do I use them? This is a way for members to easily browse and search Listings. When members create a Listing, there will be a number of options such as shoe condition and payment types that the poster can select. Members can then select these options on the Quick Search or Advanced Search to find Listings that fit characteristics they are looking for. Back to top |
| How does the Quick Search work? Quick Search appears on the right hand side of the Listing forums. It will search for an exact match of the options selected. For instance, if a member selects Jordan, Size 10, Deadstock, and Paypal, only Listings where all those options have been selected will appear. Back to top |
| What are the Search options on Advanced Search? ALL will return Listings where ALL the selected options appear ('OR' search). ANY will return Listings where at least one of the options is selected ('AND' search). Back to top |
| Posting Issues |
| How do I create a post or topic? Simply click the "New Topic" or "New Post" button while viewing a forum or topic within that forum. For posts, you can also use our Quick Reply, which will be displayed at the bottom of all topics. Note that certain forums, such as the Legit Check forum, you must be a member of a certain group to post in. You cannot reply to any Listings that are not your own, and can only create a new Listing if you've been a member for at least 3 months and have at least 100 posts. | How do I edit or delete a post? Above your post, click the "X" button to delete, or the "Edit" button to edit your posts. Note that in certain forums, these functions are not enabled. For instance, you cannot edit or delete any posts in the Agreements forum, and you cannot delete any posts in the Listings forums, although you can edit them. Back to top |
| How do I add a signature to my post? To add a signature to a post you must first create one; this is done via your Profile. There is also an Advanced Sig. Edit panel you can use as well. Once created you can check the Add Signature box on the posting form to add your signature. You can also add a signature by default to all your posts by checking the appropriate radio box in your profile. You can still prevent a signature being added to individual posts by un-checking the add signature box on the posting form. Back to top |
| How do I create a poll? Creating a poll is easy - when you post a new topic you should see a Add Poll form below the main posting box. You cannot post a poll in all forums - this feature is only enabled for certain forums on this board. You can set up to 15 poll options. | User Levels and Groups |
| What are Moderators? Moderators or 'Mods' are members of the staff. They have the ability to lock, delete, and edit posts. Forum Mods can only moderate certain forums (their username will appear under the forum description on the Index), while Mod Mob can moderate any forum. Staff members can answer your questions and do their best to provide assistance to all users. If you have any questions, PM one of them, or post in the Members Only forum. Back to top |
| What are Administrators? Administrators or 'Admins' are also members of the staff. They have control of the entire board, and unlike Mods, can perform certain functions such as banning. Admin is the highest level of authority of the board. Back to top |
| What are Usergroups? Usergroups are a different groups of members that you can belong to. Some groups are closed - such as the moderator groups, which you cannot apply. Other groups are "open access," meaning you can apply to them. Each group has a different focus or common interest. The description of each group should give you some idea of what each group is looking for. You rank image will also be changed once you admitted to a usergroup. Back to top |
| How do I join a usergroup? To join a usergroup, click the Usergroup link at the top of any page and review the list of groups. In order to apply for the group it must be an "open access" group. Click the "Join Group" button to apply. The group moderator needs to approve your application before you are admitted. Group moderators look for a variety of different things, depending on the group. Your interests, knowledge, and attitude can all play a factor in whether you are admitted. Back to top |

| What are private messages? Private Messages, or 'PMs', are messages that can be sent to any user on this board. The message will appear in the user's Inbox and will be marked as new until it is read. For issues that only concern you and another user, such as Marketplace offers, us the PM system. Back to top |
| What is my message not going to the Sentbox? After a message is sent, it will go to the Outbox. Once the user opens the message in their Inbox, it will be marked as read and moved to your Sentbox. Back to top |

| What is BBCode? BBCode is a special implementation of HTML. BBCode itself is similar in style to HTML: tags are enclosed in square braces [ and ] rather than < and > and it offers greater control over what and how something is displayed. | What are Smileys? Smileys, or Emoticons, are small graphical images which can be used to express some feeling using a short code, e.g. :) means happy, :( means sad. The full list of emoticons can be seen via the posting form. Back to top |
| How do I post pictures? Start by going to the "Album" icon on the top of any page. Choose which category best suites your pictures. You can also use your Personal Gallery by following the link at the bottom, or on your profile page. Once you have chosen the category to upload click "Upload Pic." We allow pictures up to 1100x1600 and up to 520 KB. Error messages can occur anytime during the process. If you are experiencing issues, create a post in the Members Only/Feedback forum. After successfully uploading the picture(s), it will appear first in the album of the chosen category. If you or someone else uploads a picture it will replace the first one's spot. Notice the URL link underneath your picture. The URL link will already include the image tags. Copy the this URL and paste it anywhere in your post, and it will be displayed directly in your post. Make sure your image is enclosed in image tags ([IMG][/IMG]). There are also many picture hosting sites such as Tinypic, Photobucket, etc. Most also have forum ready URLs you can use as well.
